1. Our responsibilities
1.1 We aim to repair the fault as described by the customer and to return the laptop to its original working order where possible.
1.2 Our target is to action all repairs in 2-3 working days once our estimate has been accepted, some repairs will take longer due to the nature of the faults or availability of parts, in these cases we will do our best to keep the customer informed throughout.
1.3 If further issues or faults are found while working on your laptop we will notify the customer before continuing with the repair
1.4 We will take all precautions necessary for working safely on your laptop including anti-static protection
1.5 We will take utmost care when handling data following the guidelines of the data protection act
1.6 On collection or drop off of any laptop we will carry out a full damage inspection
1.7 We will always notify you if we believe the laptop is beyond economical repair
2. Your responsibilities
2.1 Any equipment sent to Laptop Repair Workshop should be accompanied by a fault report from the customer. The information given by the customer is for reference only. Our own engineer’s examination report will form the basis of the full fault report.
2.2 It is the customer’s responsibility to back up their data before sending their equipment to us for repair. We cannot accept any responsibility for data loss during checking, repairing, or unexpected events occurring. We accept no responsibility for data loss of any kind while the laptop is in transit or in our possession. However, where possible we will always backup the data before undertaking the repair work.
2.3 Once notified it is your responsibility to collect your laptop, if after 28 days the laptop has not been collected we will recycle it to recover the cost of storage. Customers should reply to the quotation within 5 working days. Payment must be made within 15 days. Any equipment kept on site by Laptop Repair Workshop for more than 28 days since the initial quotation, or issue of invoice, or after 28 days of no communication with us, will be scrapped without notice. A holding fee of £5 per day will be charged to customers 28 days after the quotation or invoice has been issued.
2.4 Customers should fully check the laptop when they take back the unrepaired or returned laptop. We will not take any responsibility after that. This is because some customers may take the laptop to another repair shop, or dismantle the laptop by themselves and we cannot be responsible for that.
2.5 It is the customer’s responsibility to supply the charger, password and software required to allow us to work on the laptop, failure to do so may mean we will not be able to complete and test our repair work.
3. Warranty
3.1 We offer a 90 day return to base warranty for labour on all hardware repairs.
3.2 Warranty will be voided if our warranty sticker has been removed or broken or if the equipment has been modified, or improperly handled.
3.3 Warranty will also not cover further faults, other than those originally specified when the laptop was booked in.
3.4 The following repairs do not include any warranty unless stated on the final invoice: GPU Re-Flows, Software Repairs, Virus Removal, Spyware Removal.
3.5 Most new parts supplied come with a 12 month manufactures warranty unless stated.
3.6.1 All 2nd user or refurbished parts do not come with warranty unless stated.
3.7 Any faults upon the laptops return to the customer must be notified within 48 hours of return or collection.
4. Cost and payment
4.1 Payment is accepted in the following forms only; BACS or Bank Transfer, Cash into Bank Account, PayPal, Credit or Debit Card via PayPal.
4.2 Payment is due on collection or delivery of the laptop
4.3 On failure to collect or make a payment for your repair within 28 days of the repairs completion, we reserve the right to take ownership of your laptop and to recycle, dispose of or sell the item in order to recover our costs without further redress.
4.4 On any work over £180 we reserve the right to request a 50% deposit before undertaking the repair.
4.5 If the laptop is not repaired there will only be £25.00 delivery charge back to you. This covers our diagnosis and collection and delivery cost.
5. Collection and Delivery
5.1 We provide a FREE collection service in the UK. The FREE collection is subject to availability and we reserve the right to refuse service if we suspect the service is being abused.

5.3 We need at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel any collections. Failure to give appropriate notice may results in you being charge the minimum fee.
5.4 Turn around period is normally 3 working days. However, some repairs can take 3- 5 working days, under some circumstances, it may take longer due to the availability of parts or difficulty of the faults. In those exceptions we will inform you of the expected turnaround time.
6. Disclaimer
6.1 No responsibility for the expiration of manufacturer’s original warranty on equipment that has been sent to us for inspection or repair.
6.2 No responsibility for any data loss during the repair procedure or unexpected events occurring.
6.3 No responsibility for equipment of an unstable nature which may deteriorate during inspection or repair.
6.4 No responsibility after unrepaired laptop being taken back or returned.
6.5 No responsibility for returning defective or replaced parts.
7. Others
7.1 We reserve the right to change any of the above terms without prior notice.
